Brandon Tanev is out for the rest of the season for the Seattle Kraken with an ACL injury sustained Dec. 18.
He left a 5-3 loss to the Edmonton Oilers at Climate Pledge Arena at 16:09 of the third period. The Kraken said additional information on the forward’s surgery and recovery will be released when available.
Tanev’s nine goals are third on the Kraken and his 15 points are sixth. He was claimed by Seattle from the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft and has scored 107 points (51 goals, 56 assists) in 325 regular-season games, and 10 points (six goals, four assists) in 32 Stanley Cup Playoff games for the Winnipeg Jets, Pittsburgh Penguins and Kraken.
The Kraken (10-17-3) are scheduled to host the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday (10 p.m. ET; TVAS, ROOT-NW, NBCSP, ESPN+, NHL LIVE).
