TAMPA — The Arizona Coyotes lost their seventh straight game to start the season, 5-1 to the Tampa Bay Lightning at Amalie Arena on Thursday.
Alex Killorn had two goals and an assist, Steven Stamkos had a goal and an assist, and Andrei Vasilevskiy made 24 saves for the Lightning (4-3-1), who won on home ice for the first time this season.
Tampa Bay won its first six home games last season.
Lawson Crouse scored, and Ivan Prosvetov made 23 saves in his second NHL start for the Coyotes (0-6-1), who have lost five straight in regulation.
Killorn gave the Lightning a 1-0 lead at 5:39 of the first period when he finished a 2-on-1 rush with a wrist shot to the far post.
Killorn made it 2-0 at 7:40 when he took the puck from Coyotes defenseman Dysin Mayo at the blue line and finished a breakaway with a backhand.
Stamkos extended the lead to 3-0 at 10:41 with a power-play goal after he banked the puck off Prosvetov down low.
Alex Barre-Boulet made it 4-0 at 13:38 of the second period when he chipped in a pass from Mikhail Sergachev to the slot.
Crouse cut it to 4-1 at 12:36 of the third period after video review determined his shot crossed the goal line and hit the camera in the net.
Andrej Sustr scored at 18:23 for the 5-1 final.
