Coyotes get second win of season, defeat Blues

ST. LOUIS Barrett Hayton scored twice to help the Arizona Coyotes earn their second win of the season, 3-2 against the St. Louis Blues at Enterprise Center on Tuesday.

Hayton’s power-play goal with 6:08 remaining in the third period gave Arizona a 3-2 lead. He deflected Shayne Gostisbehere‘s one-timer from the point.

Kyle Capobianco scored his first goal of the season, and Scott Wedgewood made 34 saves for the Coyotes (2-13-1), who won their first road game in 11 this season and ended a three-game losing streak.

Torey Krug had a goal and an assist, and Jordan Binnington made 20 saves for the Blues (8-5-2), who have lost four straight.

Capobianco scored his second NHL goal with one second remaining on Arizona’s first power play for a 1-0 lead at 7:37 of the first period.

Kyrou extended his point streak to five games when he tied it 1-1 off a 2-on-1 with Ryan O’Reilly at 17:57.

Hayton gave the Coyotes a 2-1 lead at 11:35 of the second period after Blues forward Robert Thomas overskated a puck in his zone.

Krug tied it 2-2 at 14:58 on a 2-on-1 with O’Reilly, who got his 400th NHL assist by feeding the defenseman for a one-timer in the slot.
