Chicago welcomes Fleury to Blackhawks with billboard

Not long after Marc-Andre Fleury was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks, a giant billboard went up to welcome him to his new city.

Fleury’s agent Allan Walsh shared a photo of the billboard on Twitter, which was put up by Fifth Third Arena, the Blackhawks’ practice facility.

The 36-year-old goalie was voted the winner of the Vezina Trophy as the best goalie in the NHL this season and was traded from the Vegas Golden Knights to the Blackhawks on July 28 for forward prospect Mikael Hakkarainen.

Fleury was evaluating his future in hockey until he announced on the Blackhawks’ social media accounts that he planned to play for Chicago in 2021-22.
