Strand fined for actions in Kings game against Coyotes

NEW YORK – Los Angeles Kings defenseman Austin Strand has been fined $3,168.10, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for cross-checking Arizona Coyotes forward Conor Garland during NHL Game No. 288 in Arizona on Saturday, Feb. 20, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 19:52 of the second period. Strand was assessed a minor penalty for cross-checking.

The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
