Stephenson suspended three games for actions in Golden Knights game


NEW YORK — Vegas Golden Knights forward Chandler Stephenson has been suspended for three games, without pay, for elbowing Los Angeles Kings defenseman Tobias Bjornfot during NHL Game No. 569 in Las Vegas on Wednesday, March 31, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 18:07 of the second period. Stephenson was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for elbowing.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Stephenson will forfeit $71,120.70. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
