Simek fined for actions in Sharks game against Ducks

NEW YORK — San Jose Sharks defenseman Radim Simek has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for spearing Anaheim Ducks forward Adam Henrique during NHL Game No. 187 in Anaheim on Saturday, Feb. 6, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 6:21 of the second period.

The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
