Saros, Predators top Islanders in shootout for third straight win


NASHVILLE — Tanner Jeannot scored twice and Juuse Saros made 34 saves in a 3-2 shootout win for the Nashville Predators against the New York Islanders at Bridgestone Arena on Saturday.

Filip Forsberg and Roman Josi scored in the shootout for the Predators (4-4-0), who have won three straight games. 

Anthony Beauvillier and Oliver Wahlstrom scored for the Islanders (3-2-2), and Ilya Sorokin made 21 saves. New York extended its point streak to five games (3-0-2).

Jeannot scored his second of the game to tie it 2-2 at 11:48 of the third period on a redirection of a pass from Matt Benning.

Beauvillier gave the Islanders a 1-0 lead at 14:46 of the first period on a one-timer on the power play. Josh Bailey swung the puck across the ice to Beauvillier in the right circle, who beat Saros.

Jeannot made it 1-1 at 6:54 of the second period on a wrist shot on the rush from the right circle.

Wahlstrom gave the Islanders a 2-1 lead at 12:04 of the second period with a wrist shot from the left circle on the power play.
