Jonathan Huberdeau had a goal and four assists for the Florida Panthers in a 9-3 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning at FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, Florida on Thursday.
Anthony Duclair scored twice, including his 100th NHL goal, for the Panthers (20-7-4), who are 16-3-0 at home this season. Spencer Knight made 39 saves, and 15 of the 18 Florida skaters scored at least one point.
Brayden Point and Steven Stamkos scored for the Lightning (21-7-4), who lost for the third time in their past 12 games. Maxime Lagace made 21 saves on 27 shots, and defenseman Victor Hedman was minus-6.
Duclair gave the Panthers a 1-0 lead at 2:10 of the first period on a breakaway. Huberdeau made it 2-0 with a power-play goal at 11:22, a follow-up on a shot from Duclair that hit the post.
Frank Vatrano extended the lead to 3-0 at 14:21 with a follow up off his shot.
Zach Bogosian got the Lightning within 3-1 at 15:31 with a shot from the right circle.
Eetu Luostarinen pushed the lead to 4-1 at 3:02 of the second period.
Stamkos made it 4-2 at 6:19 with a quick shot from the slot.
Maxim Mamin made it 5-2 at 17:26 with a goal from close range, and Anton Lundell extended the lead to 6-2 at 19:23.
Point made it 6-3 with a power-play goal at 4:27 of the third period.
Duclair scored his second to make it 7-3 at 4:38, Aaron Ekblad made it 8-3 at 6:46, and Aleksander Barkov made it 9-3 with a shorthanded goal at 12:31.
Lightning goalie Hugo Alnefelt made his NHL debut in the third period and made seven saves on 10 shots. Andrei Vasilevskiy and Brian Elliott, Tampa Bay’s top two goalies, were unavailable in NHL COVID-19 protocol.
