Norris scores two, Senators defeat Stars to end three-game losing streak

DALLASJosh Norris scored twice and Filip Gustavsson made 38 saves for the Ottawa Senators in a 4-1 win against the Dallas Stars at the American Airlines Center on Friday.

Brady Tkachuk and Connor Brown each scored his first goal of the season for the Senators (3-4-0), who ended a three-game losing streak.

Joe Pavelski scored and Braden Holtby made 20 saves for the Stars (3-4-1).

Norris scored on the power play off a rebound created by Drake Batherson‘s shot to give Ottawa a 1-0 lead at 5:49 of the first period.

Tkachuk made it 2-0 at 7:55 when he intercepted a clearing attempt by Stars forward Denis Gurianov. He snapped the puck through traffic and beat Holtby stick side.

Norris scored at 7:41 of the second for his first multigoal game in the NHL off of a touch pass from Batherson for a 3-0 lead.

Pavelski scored on the power play to cut the Ottawa lead to 3-1 at 10:38 off a cross-ice pass from Alexander Radulov.

Brown scored on a redirect of Victor Mete‘s pass at 3:11 of the third for the 4-1 final.

Dallas defenseman Jani Hakanpaa was placed into the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol on Friday.
