Nino Niederreiter won’t play for the Carolina Hurricanes against the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Second Round on Sunday because of an undisclosed injury.

The forward, who did not take warmups, was listed as questionable by Hurricanes coach Rod Brind’Amour following morning skate. Niederreiter left practice Saturday after Brind’Amour said he “did a little something. I don’t think it’s an issue.”

Niederreiter scored one goal in six games for Carolina against the Nashville Predators in the first round after scoring 34 points (20 goals, 14 assists) in 56 regular-season games. In 67 career Stanley Cup Playoff games, he has scored 25 points (11 goals, 14 assists).

Defenseman David Savard is out for the Lightning because of an upper-body injury. He will be replaced by Luke Schenn, who played in three of their six games against the Florida Panthers in the first round.
