Now that’s what you call a Cup cake.
Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov spent a day with two Stanley Cups, one of which was a very edible version of the real thing.
Kucherov, his wife Anastasiya and son Max, took to the water to spend some quality time with The Greatest Trophy in All of Sports. And then ate it for dessert.
A cake in the shape of the Cup with the Kucherovs standing on top was on the menu. It was delivered before the family set out on the water.
The cake’s maker, Carolyn Janssen, proprietor of Cakes by Pink, said the cake was made of layers of wildflower honey-soaked cake layered with cream cheese icing, raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries.
One of the Stanley Cup’s keepers, Dave Bishop, shared a picture of Kucherov next to the cake on Instagram.
It appears the Lightning’s leading scorer in the 2020 playoffs (34 points in 25 games) enjoyed his day on the bay, sharing a photo of himself standing at the end of the boat with the Cup high above his head.
