ANAHEIM — William Karlsson scored his second goal of the game with 1:37 left in overtime to give the Vegas Golden Knights a 3-2 win against the Anaheim Ducks at Honda Center on Saturday.
Alex Pietrangelo had a goal and an assist, and Marc-Andre Fleury made 28 saves for the Golden Knights (12-4-1), who have won two straight following their only two-game losing streak of the season.
Rickard Rakell had a goal and an assist, and John Gibson made 24 saves for the Ducks (6-10-5), who are 0-4-2 in the past six games.
Adam Henrique, who was back in the Anaheim lineup for the first time since he was waived on Feb. 20 and went unclaimed, poked in a loose puck in the crease to tie the score 2-2 at 11:05 of the third period.
Vegas challenged for a missed stoppage because Rakell appeared to touch the puck with a high stick just before the goal, but the play was upheld.
Pietrangelo took advantage of a mistimed line change by the Ducks and made a long stretch pass ahead to Karlsson, who was a stride ahead of three Anaheim defenders.
Karlsson lifted the puck over Gibson’s left shoulder from in close for a 2-1 lead at 9:10 of the second period.
Cam Fowler, playing in his 700th NHL game, sent a pass to Rakell, and he lifted a one-timer high in the net for a 1-0 lead at 10:09 of the first period.
Pietrangelo scored his first goal since Jan 20 at 16:29 to tie it 1-1.
William Carrier screened out Gibson and Pietrangelo scored nearside with a wrist shot from the right circle for his second goal of the season.
