Josi lifts Predators in OT against Blackhawks to end three-game skid

Roman Josi scored at 1:57 of overtime to give the Nashville Predators a 3-2 win against the Chicago Blackhawks at Bridgestone Arena on Tuesday.

Josi took a pass from Mikael Granlund and beat Blackhawks goalie Malcolm Subban on the forehand for his first goal.

The Predators (3-3-0) ended a three-game losing streak.

The Blackhawks (2-3-2) extended their point streak to four games. Subban made 36 saves.

Granlund scored for the Predators to tie the game 2-2 at 11:06 of the third period on a one-timer from the left circle. It was his second goal.

Dylan Strome gave the Blackhawks a 1-0 lead at 2:59 of the first period on the power play. Andrew Shaw got to the rebound of a shot by Dominik Kubalik and passed it to Strome for his second goal.

Yakov Trenin scored for the Predators to make it 1-1 at 4:47 of the second period on a wrist shot on a breakaway. It was his first goal.

Mattias Janmark gave the Blackhawks a 2-1 lead at 11:43 of the second period. Predators forward Matt Duchene turned the puck over in the offensive zone, and Janmark beat Predators goalie Pekka Rinne for his third goal.

The Blackhawks were without forward Alex DeBrincat and defenseman Adam Boqvist. They were placed in the COVID-19 protocol Monday.
