SAN JOSE — Martin Jones made 42 saves, and the San Jose Sharks swept a two-game set against the Los Angeles Kings with a 4-2 win at SAP Center in San Jose, California on Wednesday.
Evander Kane scored two goals for the Sharks (13-14-4), who won consecutive games for the second time this season following their 2-1 win against the Kings in San Jose on Monday. The Sharks won three straight from March 8-13.
Alex Iafallo and Adrian Kempe scored for the Kings (13-13-6), who have lost three of four and five of seven. Drew Doughty had two assists, and Calvin Petersen made 24 saves.
The Sharks scored goals 1:22 apart early in the third period after Iafallo cut it to 2-1 at 19:47 of the second on a redirection of Dustin Brown‘s pass.
Kane tipped a shot by Mario Ferraro from the point 21 seconds into the third to give San Jose a 3-1 lead.
Tomas Hertl then scored at 1:43 with a shot from the slot to make it 4-1.
Iafallo cut it to 4-2 at 4:27 near the far post after Doughty lost the puck at the edge of the crease.
Rudolfs Balcers gave San Jose a 1-0 lead at 2:14 of the first period on a pass from Marcus Sorensen on the rush.
Kane made it 2-0 at 13:39 with a wrist shot from the left circle to finish a 4-on-2.
Sharks forward Logan Couture left the game after a hit from Kings forward Jeff Carter with 2:55 remaining in the third.
San Jose forward Patrick Marleau played his 885th straight game to pass Steve Larmer (884) for the fourth-longest consecutive games streak in NHL history.
