ANAHEIMJonas Johansson made 28 saves for his first NHL shutout and the Colorado Avalanche won 2-0 against the Anaheim Ducks at Honda Center on Friday.

Johansson was making his third start for Colorado since he was acquired from the Buffalo Sabres on March 20 for a sixth-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft. It was his 14th NHL start.

Rantanen scored his Colorado-leading 23rd goal of the season into an empty net to make it 2-0 with 34 seconds left.

Johansson, who was 0-5-1 in six starts with Buffalo this season, improved to 2-0-1 with the Avalanche.

Avalanche goalie Philipp Grubauer had started 32 of 40 games this season, but was given the night off after allowing seven goals on 18 shots before he was replaced by Johansson in an 8-3 loss to the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday.
