DALLAS — Tanner Jeannot had a goal and an assist to help the Nashville Predators defeat the Dallas Stars 4-2 at the American Airlines Center on Wednesday.
Juuse Saros made 25 saves for Nashville (7-5-1).
Braden Holtby made 18 saves and Roope Hintz and Miro Heiskanen scored for Dallas (4-6-2), which has one win in its past seven games (1-4-2).
Ryan Johansen gave the Predators a 1-0 lead with 52 seconds remaining in the first period off a cross-crease pass from Jeannot, backhanding the puck over a diving Holtby.
Jeannot extended the lead to 2-0 at 4:51 of the second period on a wrist shot that beat Holtby high stick side.
Matt Duchene made it 3-0 when he snapped the puck past Holtby high glove side at 17:36.
Hintz scored his first goal of the season for the Stars 15 seconds later to make the score 3-1 at 17:51 when he collected a loose puck and snapped home a rebound from the top of the crease. The goal ended a shutout streak of 126:27 by Saaros against the Stars.
Heiskanen made the score 3-2 with a power play goal at 10:43 of the third period when Alexander Radulov spotted him driving the net. He wristed the puck past a scrambling Saaros, who was squared up to Radulov as the puck carrier on the other side of the net.
Colton Sissons scored an empty net goal at 19:17 for the Predators for the 4-2 final.
Predators defenseman Alexandre Carrier took a Tyler Seguin slap shot to the side of the head at 12:55 in the second period and left the game.
