TAMPA — Victor Hedman scored 54 seconds into overtime to give the Tampa Bay Lightning a 3-2 win against the Florida Panthers at Amalie Arena on Thursday.
Hedman scored after he took a pass from Alex Killorn and got behind Florida forward Jonathan Huberdeau.
Killorn and Ross Colton scored for the Lightning (29-12-2), who won for the third time in six games. Andrei Vasilevskiy made 36 saves to improve to 14-0-0 at home.
Patric Honrqvist and Anthony Duclair scored for the Panthers (27-12-5), who have lost four of five. Chris Driedger made 16 saves.
Colton tied the game 2-2 at 9:57 of the third period when he scored from the left of the net with a redirection of a pass from Mikhail Sergachev from the slot.
Duclair gave Florida a 2-1 lead at 7:13 of the third when he finished a 2-on-1 with a one-timer off a pass from Huberdeau.
Hornqvist put the Panthers ahead 1-0 with a backhand from the left face-off circle at 15:13 of the first period.
Killorn tied it 1-1 with a power-play goal at 13:28 of the second period when his pass for Anthony Cirelli on a 2-on-1 rush went in off the stick of defenseman MacKenzie Weegar.
