RALEIGH, N.C. — Dougie Hamilton scored with 53 seconds remaining in overtime and the Carolina Hurricanes extended their point streak to 10 games in a 2-1 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets at PNC Arena on Saturday.
Teuvo Teravainen scored for the Hurricanes (34-10-7), who are 7-0-3 on their streak. Alex Nedeljkovic made 31 saves.
Hamilton took a pass off the boards from Nedeljkovic in the neutral zone and scored on a backhand.
Max Domi scored for Blue Jackets (17-25-11). Elvis Merzlikins made 32 saves.
Columbus took a 1-0 lead at 3:00 of the first period. Eric Robinson won a puck battle behind the net and fed Oliver Bjorkstrand for a backhand before Domi tapped in the rebound at the left post.
Teravainen took a pass from Sebastian Aho and scored on a one-timer from the high slot to make it 1-1 with 1:16 remaining in the first period.
The Hurricanes killed 1:43 of a 5-on-3 Columbus power play in the third period.
