Hamilton lifts Hurricanes past Blue Jackets in OT, point streak at 10

RALEIGH, N.C.Dougie Hamilton scored with 53 seconds remaining in overtime and the Carolina Hurricanes extended their point streak to 10 games in a 2-1 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets at PNC Arena on Saturday.

Teuvo Teravainen scored for the Hurricanes (34-10-7), who are 7-0-3 on their streak. Alex Nedeljkovic made 31 saves. 

Hamilton took a pass off the boards from Nedeljkovic in the neutral zone and scored on a backhand.

Max Domi scored for Blue Jackets (17-25-11). Elvis Merzlikins made 32 saves. 

Columbus took a 1-0 lead at 3:00 of the first period. Eric Robinson won a puck battle behind the net and fed Oliver Bjorkstrand for a backhand before Domi tapped in the rebound at the left post.

Teravainen took a pass from Sebastian Aho and scored on a one-timer from the high slot to make it 1-1 with 1:16 remaining in the first period.

The Hurricanes killed 1:43 of a 5-on-3 Columbus power play in the third period.
