Kevin Fiala signed a one-year, $5.1 million contract with the Minnesota Wild on Monday.
The 25-year-old forward, who was a restricted free agent, avoided a salary arbitration hearing scheduled for Tuesday.
Fiala scored 40 points (20 goals, 20 assists) in 50 regular-season games, and two points (one goal, one assist) in seven Stanley Cup Playoff games.
Selected by the Nashville Predators in the first round (No. 11) of the 2014 NHL Draft, Fiala has scored 198 points (91 goals, 107 assists) in 337 regular-season games with the Wild and Predators, and 12 points (nine goals, three assists) in 29 playoff games.
