Corey Crawford is really getting into character as a new member of the New Jersey Devils.
Mask designer Stephane Bergeron of Griff Airbrush revealed the goalie’s mask for the upcoming season and it was certainly on brand. The centerpiece is a red horned skull with boney clawed fingers reaching out through red flames.
There’s also smoke wafting from behind the Devils logo on either side of the mask and a couple of pitchforks on either side of the chin. Crawford’s No. 50 rounds out the design.
If intimidating is what Crawford was going for, consider that more than achieved.
Crawford agreed to a two-year, $7.8 million contract with the Devils on Oct. 11 after spending 13 seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks.
