Blue Jackets hand Stars fourth straight loss

Boone Jenner had a goal and an assist for the Columbus Blue Jackets in a 3-2 win against the Dallas Stars at American Airlines Center in Dallas on Thursday.

Joonas Korpisalo made 22 saves for the Blue Jackets (10-10-5), who will go for their third straight win in the second of a two-game set here Saturday.

Anton Khudobin made 19 saves for the Stars (6-8-4), who have lost four straight.

Jenner gave Columbus a 1-0 lead at 18:11 of the second period. It was his eighth goal in 25 games after he scored 11 in 70 games last season.

Jenner bodied defenseman Andrej Sekera off the puck, skated out of the right corner, and went backhand to forehand to score inside the near post.

Oliver Bjorkstrand extended the lead to 2-0 at 2:23 of the third period with an unassisted goal.

Eric Robinson scored to make it 3-0 at 4:05 when a shot by Jenner deflected off his skate.

Miro Heiskanen made it 3-1 at 7:35 with Dallas’ first goal in 189:46. He took a pass from Jamie Benn and scored from above the right face-off circle for his first goal of the season.

The Stars were shut out their previous two games by Andrei Vasilevskiy of the Tampa Bay Lightning (5-0 at Tampa Bay on Saturday, 2-0 at home Tuesday). They had not scored since Jamie Benn’s goal at 17:49 of the second period of a 3-2 loss at the Florida Panthers on Feb. 25.

Jason Robertson made it 3-2 at 10:48 when he scored off a rebound.
